Before you start a cleaning cycle

  1. Disconnect headphones, Bluetooth speakers, and other audio accessories.
  2. Remove any case that blocks the speaker openings.
  3. Set the iPhone volume to a strong but comfortable level.
  4. Hold the device with the affected speaker facing downward.
  5. Choose a 15, 30, or 60-second cycle and let it finish.
Safety: Never place the speaker directly against your ear while a cleaning tone is playing. ClearWave is not a replacement for professional repair.

Cleaning audio is quiet or not playing

  • Turn up media volume using the physical volume buttons.
  • Confirm Silent Mode, Focus, or another app is not interrupting playback.
  • Disconnect Bluetooth and AirPlay devices so audio plays through the iPhone speaker.
  • Close and reopen ClearWave, then start the cycle again.
  • Restart the iPhone if audio remains unavailable.

Decibel meter is not responding

The live decibel meter requires microphone access. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable ClearWave. Then reopen the app.

Readings are estimates for everyday reference and can vary between iPhone models. They are not calibrated for professional safety or compliance measurements.

Cleaning reminders are not appearing

  • Open Settings → Notifications → ClearWave and allow notifications.
  • Check the reminder frequency, time, and weekday inside ClearWave settings.
  • Confirm Focus modes are not silencing the notification.
  • Toggle the reminder off and on again to reschedule it.

Subscription and purchase help

Restore a purchase

Open ClearWave’s subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure the device is signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Open iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ClearWave. Billing, cancellation, and refund decisions are managed by Apple.

Speaker still sounds muffled

Try a longer cycle, allow the device to rest in a dry, well-ventilated place, and run the speaker test again. Do not insert objects, compressed air, or liquids into the speaker openings. If distortion continues or the device shows signs of damage, contact Apple or a qualified repair provider.
